Rain Thunderpaws

You can hear her coming before you see her: the thunder of her mighty paws is unmatched by any other rabbit. Rain (a.k.a. "Rainbow", "Brainbow", "Bainbow", but most often just "BeeBo"). Twelve pounds of silk and whipcord. Gorgeous, but humble. A jock, but a flirt. But she didn't always look so lovely...

Rain was rescued from a vacant lot where she had been dumped by someone who had tired of the novelty of their cute, little "Easter Bunny." Her face, belly and legs were covered with scabs and pus from mange, her ears solid with crust from ear mites. A three-hour bath yielded well near 2000 fleas. Here's what she looked like after the bath. (You should have seen her before!)

Rain decided she wanted to be adopted by Obie and Nala long before they knew they wanted her. Obie loves his Big Beebo Pillow dearly. Though Nala was outweighed by Rain (8 lbs to 12), she was ever Rain's Queen (and sometimes a bit of a bully!). But Nala would kiss Rain and love her, as long as she stayed in her own area of the territory and not get too palsy with her hubby, Obie. Now that Nala runs with the Black Rabbit's Owsla, Rain has taken over the duties of Alpha Queen of the Universe.

Beebo loves to cuddle in a lap, even if it means interfering with someone's work. When she was first rescued, she spent several weeks living in Dana's office, and it was impossible to work: every time Dana would sit down to work at the computer, a big, white rabbit would lunge into her lap and lift her nose up for kisses. How can anyone resist?

But she reallyloves to dig and wallow in fresh, clean dirt. She continues to maintain the Caverns of Mystery originally started by Nala. We wonder how long our big snowdrift of a bunny will remain white...
